Packable Bags

A packable backpack is a backpack that folds and can be stored in another bag, backpack, or purse for easy carrying. Then, when you need it, you can take it out, unfold it, and fill it with all your accessories, souvenirs, and gear. Unlike other types of travel backpacks, foldable backpacks make it easy to bring an extra bag with you just in case you decide to pick something up while traveling, or they can be used as day packs when you’re going on a hike or trip to the beach.

Additionally, you can pack your foldable backpack in your luggage, so it won’t need to be checked as an extra bag.

Eagle Creek now sells five styles of packable bags. Our lightweight Packable Backpack is designed to go anywhere and fit in any other bag. It can store up to 16 liters and weighs just under 6 ounces, so it won’t even feel like you’re carrying it.

Our second style, the Packable Hip Pack, offers lightweight, hands-free carry of all your essentials, including IDs and credit cards, accessories, and makeup. It has a 2-liter capacity, weighs only 2 ounces, and like the Packable Backpack, it packs up super small and can be stored just about anywhere, even in the pocket of another bag.

The best size packable backpack depends on where you’re going and what you’ll be doing. For example, if you’re hiking and want to bring a water bottle, extra shoes, and other essentials, you’ll prefer a larger collapsible backpack. However, if you’re traveling the streets of a new city and want to ensure your cash and cards are safe at your side, you may prefer a packable fanny pack. If you're looking to check a new bag on your return flight, you may opt to choose an extra-large packable duffel bag.
