Reviews

Very good, but floppy

"As a travel writer and a grandma, I spend a lot of time on the road with lots of different needs and travel styles. I need the Huge capacity when on the Santa trip to the grandkids, but smaller capacity for one week jaunts. But it does tend to flop around when it is full. The design of the handle at the end does help a lot. Adding a long slot for my Walking poles or tripod seat would help with the floppy. Or having a detachable handle would help a a ton I would also enjoy having an onboard bag or back pack that could fit in the overhead, but accommodate the packed 110 whale and a few necessities."

The best bag for our travel needs.

"We bought 3 bags to make our trip through Italy and Amalfi easier knowing how many steps we will have to climb. The bag did great. It is super light on its own, only 6lb, so you can pack more as average luggage weighs 10-12 lbs. It is waterproof so even when it rained nothing inside got wet. When we needed to switch from rolling it to a backpack, it was extremely easy and convenient to pull the backpack straps. The side pockets with zippered compartments is great for shoes or smaller items. Yes, it is expensive, but it was totally worth it. My 12 year old daughter was able to carry the bag with ease and it made our Amalfi experience a breeze."

Light but clumsy to pull despite carefully packing the weight over wheels

"It was a great idea, especially for the weight limit to Antarctica BUT . . it flops over , as soon as you try to rest it upright , after pulling . Pulls easily , but despite trying pack it different ways , it’s clumsy ."

Great bag

"Great bag"

almost perfect

"I do a lot of travel. and as a grandma, this bag has lots of room for the stuff that I bring the grand kids. It is tough material, and rugged construction but the balance is a bit off for the long hauls thru train stations and underground."

barbara (4/5)

Great bag for non-airline use.

"I had a 110 L cargo hauler for about a dozen uses of various modes of travel (airline, car, boat), which worked well as a duffle, non-airline use. There are three issues with the base design at the wheels. 1) The bag handle is short for a 5' 9" person, 2) the two-wheel roller becomes unstable when pulled straight or over small bumps (tips over), and 3) the bag became damaged at the base due to airline excessive handling (see image). I would not recommend this bag for rolling due to instability and excess wear."

Cargo Hauler 110L

"The bag meets the exact dimensions allowed by our tour to Southern Africa. The tan and red trimmed duffle looks appropriately retro for the trip"

Marianne G. (5/5)

Does it all!

"This bag has the space for cold weather fishing gear for two weeks. Handles everywhere to move it. I love the weather proof construction and materials and the looks, but most of all the backpack straps. Hands free or I can wheel it around. I love it so much, we have his and her’s cargo haulers."

Wayne K. (5/5)

Classy deployment bag

"Spacious, can drag around with the wheels easily. Looks stylish too. Using this bag as a deployment bag and it’s served its purpose well!"

Sarah B. (5/5)

High quality

"Bought this as an emergency duffle. High quality material and zippers. Like that it has the wheel option and back pack straps. It is heavy when full since it's large. Slightly awkward to carry on back but I consider it primarily a duffle with option of back pack and I have heavy items in it. Really well made and happy with it."

Q&A

Is the 130 L version accepted as check in luggage on most airlines without extra fees?
Hi David, Most airlines allow checked bags to have combined linear dimensions (found by adding up the bag's length, width, and height) up to 62 inches before charging oversized fees. When the Cargo Hauler 110L Rolling Duffel is packed full, its linear dimensions add up to 58.75 inches. The Cargo Hauler 130 L Rolling Duffel's linear dimensions are 62.75 inches. So, so long as this bag is not packed entirely full, you should not incur additional fees.
